Hi!

My name is Cherie Mariko Murashige and I am a senior portrait and wedding photographer currently working in both California and Hawaii.

So… a little about me…

Since I was little, pictures have been everything to me. Going through my baby pictures & family albums… I couldn’t get enough! My grandfather was famous in Hawaii for his surfing photography and I was the only one that really shared his passion for photos. From the time I first started taking pictures, I was hooked. I wanted to bring a camera everywhere. Sure, maybe I was 11, and sure, maybe I was using disposable cameras, but it was just so exciting to me when I got to see what I had captured.

Over the years, my grandpa shared more of his knowledge (and cameras) with me, I learned how to develop my own pictures, and sure enough, eventually dove into the world of digital. During college, my family chipped in and bought me some great camera equipment and I got started doing portraits. Senior girls continue to inspire me with their natural beauty and excitement about life and I love capturing that about them.

While planning my own wedding, I gained a strong interest in wedding photography as well. Since then, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing wedding photographers throughout California, and I am convinced that this is going to be a life-long career for me. I love telling the story of a couple’s happiest day through my photos and the emotions I get to capture (and experience-yes I’ve teared up at every wedding I’ve shot) just reinforces my belief in love every time.

I particularly enjoy collaborating with brides on the personal touches and style of their wedding so I can capture their vision and personality on the big day.
